Screen printing vs embroidery: which to choose?
The difference between screen printing and embroidery, when each one wins and what lasts longer. A quick guide from Marcomania's shop in Ciudad Juárez.

It's the question we get most. The short answer: embroidery is stitched with thread, screen printing is laid down with ink. Each technique shines at different things.
| Embroidery | Screen printing | |
|---|---|---|
| Finish | Raised thread, premium | Flat, ink on fabric |
| Best for | Logos on caps, polos, aprons | Big designs, high-volume tees |
| Durability | Years, holds up to washing | Very good with the right ink |
| Ideal volume | Few to many pieces | Best cost at volume |
Choose embroidery if…

- You need lots of tees at the best per-piece cost.
- You want that classic printed look on cotton.
FAQ
- Which one lasts longer?
- Embroidery is practically forever because it's stitched thread. Screen printing with the right ink also lasts years if you wash it inside out without harsh drying.
- Can I combine both?
- Yes. It's common to embroider the chest logo and screen print a big design on the back. We quote it together.
